Domain Names
Reserve, or "Park" your domain:
Regulations require that your domain point to 2 DNS servers. Metrohost
provides those servers for you for free when you purchase the domain
name through us. You do not need to purchase hosting.
Go to www.internic.net/whois.html
and enter the domain you would like to buy. If the Internic response is
that there is "No Match", then that name is available!
If you host with MetroHost.Com, you can have your own domain name in
one of the following forms:
www.yourname.com
www.yourname.net
www.yourname.org
www.yourname.info
www.yourname.us
www.yourname.name
www.yourname.biz
You will also receive POP email accounts at your domain name. You
may choose to activate more than one domain name if desired.
Lets face it -- when you have your own domain name, people will
trust and respect your site. If you choose those long web addresses using one of those
"free" services, you will lose viewers. Unless they bookmark your site, it is
doubtful that they will ever go back again. And be assured that work-of-mouth
advertisement is impossible.
Over 40,000 domain names are being registered a day on a first come,
first serve basis, so hurry up before yours is taken!
